Luxury Group Glamping in Norfolk
The Lakes is a fantastic place for large groups of friends or families wanting to get together and celebrate a special occasion. Set overlooking an eight-acre lake the huts are centred around the Nest, an elevated safari tent for communal use, with a definite wow factor!
At weekends and during school holidays we like to let the site as a whole, and offer exclusive use of the Lakes. In total we can accommodate 26 people; 10 in shepherd’s huts, 8 in yurts and 8 in bell tents.
Our four traditional style shepherd’s huts sleep ten people; three huts have a double bed and the fourth also has bunk beds.
New for this season we have two 5 metre yurts Kingfisher and Skylark - equipped with double beds along with two sets of camping bunk beds, which can be rearranged as single beds if preferred. The yurts accommodate four adults but can also sleep a family of six.
Like our huts, the yurts have a small wood burner to keep things cosy, outside there is decking and they have their own fire pit and picnic bench. One of the yurts has its own private facilities with a loo and shower shack nearby whilst the other has shared use of Aquarius, the shower hut. They do not have their own kitchen shelter but have a small gas camp stove to make an early morning cup of tea and are only a short distance from the Nest and communal cooking facilities.
We also have two 5 metre bell tents which will sleep 4-6 people on inflatable beds; the bell tents are not a permanent fixture and can only be booked in conjunction with a hut or yurt and will use the same facilities.
All bedding is provided in the huts and yurts however people staying in bell tents will need to bring their own bedding. Towels are not provided at the Lakes.
The Nest, our communal area, is equipped with two kitchen areas with gas hobs; all crockery, glassware and utensils are provided. There are two large fridge freezers for you to stock with provisions or we can suggest outside caterers if you fancy relaxing completely.
If you wish to cook a feast for a crowd we have a communal cooking area with two large fire pits along with a wood fired pizza that cooks brilliant pizzas in minutes. There are also two further kitchen areas adjacent to Mallard and Teal huts, equipped with fire pits, barbecues, sinks and food preparation areas
If the weather is inclement, the Nest provides plenty of shelter with leather sofas, beanbags and deck chairs for relaxing around the wood burner, as well as a dining space for 22 people.
If you want to be more active you can explore the walking trails around the 75 acres of wildlife habitat on the glamping site, go wild swimming in the 8 acre lake, try your hand at dinghy sailing or use the paddle boards.
In addition to all of this we have a wood-fired hot tub that can be hired for the weekend, it seats 4-5 people so you can sit back, have a soak and gaze at the stars.
The Lakes are off grid, so there’s no wifi, enabling you to really switch off from the outside world and simply enjoy the setting and the company. The nearest pub and shop is three miles away, and the Lakes themselves are situated about a mile from the village road.
